With an initial investment of just Rs 20,000, Rout took the bold step of quitting his job at Infosys and launching Biggies Burger.

Rout clearly recognized the gap in the market for a home-grown Indian brand renowned for its burgers. Currently, the satisfaction of their craving for a juicy burger by many people in India relies on foreign brands like McDonald’s and KFC. However, Rout’s innovative venture, Biggies Burger, was introduced, changing the scenario, gradually started to change this scenario.

To gain expertise in the art of burger making, Rout turned to YouTube tutorials, leveraging the power of online learning. Initially, he set up a small kiosk in Bengaluru, where he sold his burgers on weekends while continuing to work his regular 9-to-5 job during the weekdays. The humble kiosk was transformed into a full-fledged store due to the advantageous strategic location near the Infosys office, and the growing demand.

What began with a modest investment of Rs 20,000 has now evolved into a massive enterprise, with Biggies Burger reporting an impressive revenue of Rs 100 crore. Biraja Rout’s next objective, buoyed by this success, is to expand Biggies Burger into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, tapping into new markets and spreading the brand’s presence. Aiming for a revenue of Rs 200 crore, the business is envisioned by Rout to reach new heights with this expansion.

Biggies Burger has grown to become India’s largest and most beloved homegrown burger brand, boasting a presence in 28 cities and 14 states. A dominant player in the QSR industry, the brand takes pride in its network of over 130 stores, which serve delicious grilled burgers to a wide range of customers nationwide. Recently, Biggies Burger ventured into the café segment by launching India’s largest burger café in Bengaluru. The brand aims to expand its café model by adding more stores in the near future.

Reaching a major milestone in its growth, Biggies Burger currently has a revenue of 100 Crores ARR and aspires to achieve a 100 Crores revenue by the end of the current financial year. The brand has set a target of expanding its network of stores to 350 by 2024.
